Control of vortex-induced vibration of an elastically mounted cylinder with a pair of porous rods

In this work, the control of vortex-induced vibration (VIV) an elastically mounted cylinder with a pair porous rods is numerically investigated at Reynolds number 150. To calculate forces on moving media, efficient formula based momentum theorem proposed. The are placed behind angle 25°, and effects gap ratio (G) permeability (Da) VIV studied in detail. Based results obtained, it found that small G, suppressed mainly through action shear-layer separation reattachment. addition, better performance can be achieved by using lower Da. As G increases, maintain good performance, while solid enhance vibration, latter being caused interaction between vortices shed from main rods. best effect Da = 0.0001 0.7. corresponding reductions amplitude, drag force, lift force 85%, 33%, 84%, respectively.
